Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is not easily described in general statements. It varies depending on the therapist, the client, and, the problems one is experiencing. There are many different methods that may be used to deal with the problems one hopes to address.

Psychotherapy calls for a very active effort on your part. In order for therapy to be successful, you will have to practice techniques for self soothing and work on things discussed during the session between office visits. There are great benefits to psychotherapy even though therapy often involves discussing unpleasant aspects of your life. You may experience uncomfortable feelings like sadness, guilt, anger, frustration, loneliness, and helplessness. Therapy often leads to better relationships, solutions to specific problems, and significant reductions in feelings of distress. Family, Couples, and Individual psychotherapy are offered for adults and adolescents.
